Our Better Angels

The world feels more contentious than ever about ideologies, values, and trajectories. Interestingly enough, at the core of most people's arguments are the same tenets - to protect and build the best possible life for our spouses and families, freedom of religion, freedom to express ideas, and to gather peacefully.
Social media was developed with the intent to connect people, but it's created a more divisive populace with name calling, bullying, shaming, or worse to complete strangers on the web. That's why it's more important than ever to connect with people face to face to come to common ground.
In these face-to-face encounters, we get to know "thy neighbor" and listen to our better angels to listen, process the situation and what's the root of the matter, and achieve common ground. And even if common ground is not realized, a mutual respect and understanding for one another can be gained.
The Knights of Columbus Sisqua Council offers those types of relationships. Our acts of charity where we interact with people who live in and around Mount Kisco allow us to build connectivity among people, lend a helping hand, and build a brighter future. We do our part to "put good into the world" through intentional acts of kindness, compassions, and integrity that create positive outcomes and hopefully have rippling effects.
These ideas are not new, but there's a demand for strong Catholic men to listen to their better angels, step into the breach, and fill the void to better humanity with our acts. We abide to our motto, "in service to One, in service to all." Join us.
